Poipu Wedding

Poipu is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kauai County on the southern side of the island of Kauai in the U.S. state of Hawaii. The population was 1,075 at the 2000 census. The town features a group of high-end hotels and resorts (including a Grand Hyatt), and one main shopping center.

Poipu is located at 21533N, 1592751W (21.884079, -159.464195)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.2 km (2.8 mi). 6.3 km (2.5 mi) of it is land and 0.9 km (0.3 mi) of it (11.87%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,075 people, 472 households, and 311 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 169.4/km (437.9/mi). There were 1,969 housing units at an average density of 310.3/km (802.2/mi). The racial makeup of the CDP was 69.40% White, 0.09% African American, 0.37% Native American, 16.93% Asian, 1.95% Pacific Islander, 0.74% from other races, and 10.51% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.19% of the population.
